Mlynek, Mylenek and Uher Family Genealogy

 
    January 1, 1904 – James Mlynek, age 19, arrived in New York, NY on the Kaiser Wilhelm II from Bremen, Germany. 
    December 23, 1906 – John and Mary Mlynek arrive in New York, NY on the Kaiser Wilhelm II from Bremen, Germany. 

    Both the Hadra (Chadra) and Mlynek families came from the Alwernia & Wieliczka (Krakow, Galacia Poland area) showing their last residence as Michalkovice, Czech Republic, under the Rule of Francis Joseph, Emperor of Austria. They lived over one year in Michalkovice and had to travel through the Czech Republic and Germany to get to Port of Bremen.  Both families went straight to Carlisle / Scarbro, WV. 
     
    April 20, 1910 - The US Census shows that Frank Hadra, Florentyna, John, Joseph and Emily rented the house at 47 White Oak Road in Scarbro, (Fayette County) West Virginia.  They had three boarders:
    · John Mlynek (Florentyna Hadra / Chadra's Brother) age 30, Married 11 years, with two children, emigrated from Austria (Poland) in 1905?, working as a coalminer.
    · Stanley Kososki (Kosowski) age 18, Single, emigrated from Austria (Poland) in 1908, working as a coalminer. (Frank’s future brother-in –law)
    · Frank Jaslowich (sp?) age 17, Single, emigrated from Austria (Poland) in 1909, working as a coalminer.

    April 21, 1910 – US Census shows that a John Mlynek b. about 1868, age 42, married to Mary Uher b. about 1876, age 34, with nine children, resided at 55 White Oak Road in Scarbro, WV. Arrived in the USA in 1906 and was from Poland. Trade Coal Digger, Occupation coalminer. Children;
    · James Mlynek b. April 21, 1892, age 17, born in Poland, Trade Laborer, Occupation coalminer.
    · John Mlynek b. about 1895, age 15, born in Poland, Trade Laborer, Occupation coalminer.
    · Sophie Mlynek b. about 1898, age 12, born in Poland.
    · Dan Mlynek b. about 1901, age 9, born in Poland.
    · Mary Mlynek b. about 1902, age 8, born in Poland.
    · Stephen Mlynek b. about 1903, age 7, born in Poland.
    · Joseph Mlynek b. about 1905, age 5, born in Poland.
    · Andy Mlynek b. about 1907, age 3, born in Poland.
    · Charley Mlynek b. about 1909, age7 months, born in West Virginia.

    The Mlynek family stayed in Carlisle, WV into the 1920's and we have lost track of them until 2003 When we learned that some changed their last name to Mylenek and lived in Michigan.
