Hadra / Chadra Family Genealogy - 2007 Correspondence

  • MESSAGE: Aug 13, 2007 Subject: Jan Swiechowski and Regina Swiechowska "Hello Dennis, Many thanks for your email. I appreciated it very much. It was very kind of you to write. And it was very interesting what you wrote about relatives. I love genealogies and I'm interested in the family tradition.  I was very pleased to learn that you are interested in it too.
Well, you're looking for your family in Poland - it's great! I can help you a little. I'll try to find some information in the future. "Świechowski" is the name of my husband's family. My family name is "Adamek". The father of my husband is dead. His name is Jan Świechowski. He was from Śląsk where his family (for example parents) lived. He died when my husband was a small child (5 years old) so my husband (Bogusław) hadn't any contact with his family of the father. Boguslaw can speak and write in English better than me. I'll tell him about this intricate problem. He'll write to you, but I don't know when because he'll go to Switzerland (Suisse) tomorrow morning. His present knowledge about forebears is very insufficient. Until next time." Best wishes, Adrianna Adamek Świechowski

I would be most obliged if you could confirm to me whether you descend from a family that emigrated from the village of Chadra in the very north of Lebanon. My name is Elie Jabbour I developed over the years some constant interest in this village and its people since my forefathers were born there. I appreciate your return email at your earliest convenience." Kind regards, Elie Jabbour

  • MESSAGE: July 24 2006 "I don't know if you can help me but I had to try. My Grandfather came from Poland and lived in Kanawha County, his name on all records is Andy McNash (yes I know it's not Polish) I found death certificates for what I think are his cousins or an uncle and a cousin and both were from Poland with the same last name.
Grandpa had a sister who I just found out lived in Beckley (WV). Family lore has it that she married a policeman and they had a son. Father and son were both named John but that's all I know.
I saw the name Kosowski that you are listed as researching and it's the only last name that I thought might be a hit for me. Any information you might have I would appreciate." Thanks. Sharon Coleman
    REPLY:
Sharon, What is your relationship to the Kosowski name? You can find more on the Kosowski's at one of my genealogy sites http://www.scarbrowv.com/ . Dennis Chadra artlover@chadra.com

He was Stanislaw Piotr Malec, who later changed the spelling (after talking to a German immigrant) to Maletz after coming to the States and settling in New Jersey. He was one of 18 children, at least 9 of which came to the States, mostly sisters, at least one of the 9 becoming a nun. I have more on the tree if you are interested." Czesc, Stan Maletz
